International Training Interview with Lance King

How to motivate a child to learn? How else to scare him to start doing homework, prepare for exams and finally get out of his computer!

How to motivate a child to learn? How else to intimidate him (if the story about “becoming a janitor” does not work) to start doing homework, prepare for exams and finally get out of your computer! (And, of course, bring home only five.)

For 10 years, we've been getting these requests from our parents, and we've been mentally bending our fingers, like the Two of the Box in the Vovka in the Thirty Kingdom.

And today, adults continue to sound the alarm and demand love from their teenagers (but no, not to the same beautiful guys as they should be at their age, but to school), and children run away into the illusory reality of virtual games, where there is clearly something motivating and attractive for them.

Is it possible to motivate a child to learn?

Back in 2012, when we were working with a children’s home in Novosibirsk as volunteers, we conducted our first programs on choosing a profession and learning skills for teenagers who found themselves in difficult life situations.

Working with children from orphanages, we tried to teach them to communicate, interact in a team, manage finances, choose their professional trajectory and help them socialize in school and in society – including through motivation to study.

Then we realized the main thing that it is really impossible to motivate to learn, but it is possible to make it so that the child himself defines his goal and develops inner motivation to learn.

And we decided that we will study and bring the best world practices on the topic of career choice and motivation.

So in August 2022, the international educational program “Learning ability” was launched in Punkt B, which is based on the methodology of the teacher and facilitator from New Zealand Lance G King.

And on August 17, Natalia Serpionova conducted a webinar interview with Lance King – a world expert in the topic of motivation, one of the most popular specialists in the world in the development of educational skills, the author and host of the bestseller – the training “Exam Confidence”.

The creator of the world-famous program “The Art of Learning”, behind which 24 years of practice and more than 250,000 students from all over the world – Lance King, and a guide to the world of motivation to study and development of educational skills from the School of Career Choice Punkt B Natalia Serpionova, serial entrepreneur, co-founder of the project and career specialist, discussed in the format of an educational interview:

What happens to people’s motivation and ability to learn?

Why do so many children learn with reluctance to watch YouTube?

Why do students buy paid educational courses and programs, do not pass them to the end?

- How can that be changed?

What tools and programs can help with this?

Despite the time of holidays and the summer warming sun outside the window, the webinar brought together almost 1,000 teachers, career specialists, parents and children. And this for us is the main confirmation of the value of our interview with a world expert and joy for your indifference to the topic, because it is important to remember that three are responsible for the motivation and result of training: school, family and child. Lance believes that children cannot be motivated, but parents can teach them self-motivation – personal example, eternal learning, curiosity and, of course, the right goal setting.

Develop, dream and let your child make choices. Choosing your goals, inner motivation and yourself.
