How to make a child happy and is it worth it?

We all want to do good and make our children happy. Happiness we see as social success, many friends.

We all want to do good and make our children happy. We see happiness as social success, a lot of friends, a good environment. But what the child needs is not fully understood by all moms-dads.

We talked about childhood happiness with Alexander Asmolov, Head of the Department of Personality Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology of Moscow State University.

According to Alexander, children, first of all, do not need to learn new things - they will learn themselves. In support of these words, Alexander Grigorievich cites the example of his grandchildren. They affectionately call it the “dinosaur” – it does not keep up with the fleeting and rapidly changing present. But the grandchildren in this present live comfortably.

Asmolov strongly recommends parents to read two books on the topic: Despicable Swans by the Strugatsky brothers and Cultures and Worlds of Childhood by Margaret Mead. They will help to understand children better and speak the same language.

In the modern child-parent world, there are four big dramas. It's drama, not trouble. They should be known, they should be accepted and thought about their elaboration.

1. The drama of parents and teachers behind children;

2. Children’s fears of technology;

3. devaluation of values in the world of computer games;

4. The world is changing faster than the education system.

Lev Vygotsky said, “Education leads to development.”

And if you find the child’s motivation, he will find everything himself, study and apply this knowledge. Help him to just believe in himself.
