“Doctor, I’m tired of my job.”
Burnout is a syndrome that often requires medical intervention, the severity of this condition is noted internationally.
How to recognize burnout in a client?
Traditionally, burnout symptoms are divided into groups:
1. Physical symptoms.
Like insomnia. If the client says that he has insomnia, physical fatigue, weakness, possibly dizziness at work or immediately after work, headaches, shortness of breath, high or low blood pressure, then these may be symptoms of burnout in a person.
2. Absence of emotions or their vivid expression.
This is a feeling of loneliness, or vice versa, some bright emotions, tantrums, aggression, some emotional experiences of suffering, a high level of anxiety, including those associated with work.
3. Changes in behavior.
Here, it is difficult for the consultant to notice changes in the state, but the close environment of the colleague, for example, gives feedback that the person has changed. This change is noticeable and pronounced.
As an example, a person began to abuse alcohol. He began to drink some medicines, began to smoke more, there were unusual food attachments.
4. Intellectual symptoms.
If a client shares that he has lost interest in everything new, in self-development, he has a void in his head, no creativity, no ideas, do not want to create new.
5. Social relations.
If the client says that he became more comfortable without people, more comfortable to go into isolation, or he has a hyperneed for communication, and there may be misunderstandings with others, then this can be a bell about professional burnout.
